Glad it turned out how i'd hoped...had planned to rust the shell using iron powder but the fear of said powder accidentally getting inside the console scared me...so i opted for brown and gold paint to get the basic effect.
Fun to make and doesn't look that bad. Only took about 3 hours. spent 2 week gathering the parts though (most of which are volkswagen beetle parts and some old shotgun parts!)
Painted inside as well but didn't snap a photo.
