"Patents are a form of theft. They are artificial attempts to limit ideas to arbitrary people. There is no rational basis for trying to claim intellectual property in a society, where no individual can possibly claim to have developed an idea independently from anyone else, as everyone must learn from and experience the ideas of others first before synthesizing something theretofore unique. So to claim that anyone has sole ownership of anything, especially an idea, is absurd. It is another crippling concept, like money, that supposedly benefits the few at the expense of the many, but in fact only deprives everyone of the benefits of open collaboration and exploration"
